How to create an assembly
Go to GLOBAL SETTINGS> Materials > ASSEMBLIES.
Before you can build ('assemble') an Assembly, you must first create a blank assembly template, and then define which components (material items) make up an Assembly.
Click New Assembly. This will open a New Assembly box, which has the same data fields as a material item. Populate the fields in the same way as you would for a material item.
The fields to be completed within the New Assembly box are essentially the same as for a normal Material Item. Read Global settings - Materials - Add or edit materials
Once you have filled out the required information and clicked SAVE, the new assembly item will re-appear in expanded form at the top of the Assemblies screen, with an initial stock level of 0.
Assemblies are managed items, by definition. They cannot be unmanaged.
Two icons appear in the assembly item header - Components and Assemble (build).
Now you can begin to add components to your Assembly. Read Inventory - How to add Components to an assembly.
